Title: Carbon fiber landing gear
Post by: Brent Rogillio on April 25, 2019, 11:30:09 AM
I purchased a carbon fiber landing gear and I like to cut the length down and reform  where the wheels go. Can you heated it up  and rebend it where the wheels go. Thanks

Brent - If you can build a CL model you can build your own CF landing gear.
1) Make a wooden mold the right size and bend-angles.
2) Paint it with epoxy.
3) When cured paint it with mold release.
4) Brush in a coat of epoxy, then lay in some CF cloth or tow.
5) Repeat #4 until the LG is thick enough.
6) Paint with epoxy until smooth, or cover the exposed side of the gear with Mylar or Silicone sheet, or bolt on the other half of your mold if you made a 2-part.

Look on YouTube for instructional videos.
