Canton, Georgia Stunt Meet/September 16-18, 2022
Will Davis posted some excellent photos of our recent meet on YouTube-Call up “Control Line Contest Pics, F2B, Canton, GA”. You will see what has been called “The second-best contest site on the East side of the country”. (The first is the Joe Nall/Triple Tree event).
We had three days of absolutely perfect stunt weather too. Everyone had a great time. We try to put on a “party” that has a ”Stunt Theme”, and we succeeded.
However…we need greater attendance - we had 20 contestants - but we cannot sustain the work and the costs (we had to rent the city park site) without greater entry numbers. There are fewer and fewer contests. If you want this one, and others, to continue, better attendance or financial support is necessary. Contests have fixed, non-reducible costs whether you attend or not. I encourage you to send your entry fee to your usual meets in your area even if you cannot, or choose not to attend. Contributing the entry fee is much, much cheaper than gas and motel costs that you would have if you were attending. It is a small thing, but it adds up. It’s an investment your own modeling future. Otherwise, these opportunities for education, competition and friendship will become extinct. Everyone loses when that happens.
