control horn placement
« on: July 14, 2015, 03:37:18 PM »
I am installing a Sullivan control horn on to my new ringmaster.  I need some feedback on placement point on the elevator.  Do I need to have the connection holes in the control horn dead center above the hinge line?  With the sullivan control horn this would place the metal base about 5/16 of an inch behind hinge line. Any advice will be appreciated.  Thanks

The pushrod connection should be in line with the elevator hinge line.  Place the control horn so that the pushrod connects there.

With a flapped airplane there might be times when it would be slightly offset because in this instance you want the pushrod to be perpendicular
to the control horn both at the flap horn and the elevator horn to insure more equal movement of the surfaces.
