Post by: Dick Pacini on November 15, 2010, 08:26:20 AM
I have a PDF image that I want to post but can't figure it out.  Any ideas would be welcome.

That is if it is not too big.  If it is your program should be able to resize.  Once resized do a save.  I have this site,  SSW and Barton that no two call for the same size.  I have a Kodak program on my coputor.   H^^

I tried that a couple of times and nothing happened, although I never made the post.  It didn't show in Preview.

Dick,

The file is either too big, or is corrupt in some way. If you like, you can send it to me and I'll see if I can fix it. Or several other guys here.

It doesn't show in the "Preview" because it won't be uploaded until you hit "Post" -

As long as your file is less than 1 Mbyte, it should be OK, but you do have to hit the "Post" button.

If it still doesn't work, you can "Remove" the post and try to fix the problem.

OK, I was able to post the link.  Apparently, a PDF file can't appear in a post without the (interested) reader clicking the link, downloading and then opening it.

Depending on your version of Adobe, there is a "Copy To Clipboard " command in the Edit drop down. Once the image is in the Clipboard, open Paint, paste the image and save it as a JPEG. Resize if necessary and post it on here.
Using the Clipboard enables you to change images or drawings from a PDF to more forum useable JPEG or Bitmap....John.

As long as the wife, daughter or grandkids don't delete the program I have not had trouble loading pictures.  I down load the card from the digital camera to my pictures in the documents section of the computor.  I have Windows something that is working until the wife tries loading a newer version of windows.  I come to the forum,  start a new post or click on an existing post.

At the bottom of the post is a line "Additional Options",  click on it.  A line should come saying Attach:  with a blank space.  Click on the Browse.  Should bring up your picture file.  Check size of file/picture.  Has to be less than 1000KB.  If you have multiple files/pictures they need to be less than 200KB for 5 items.  The Attach shows that a max of 20 items as long as they don't add up to 1000KB.  My program has an edit in whitch I can resize.  I have to go 20% to get my items to size.  Click on the item you want to post.  The blank line in your pictures should have a location for your pic.  There is a box in  my program that you click on to tell wat type file you have.  Then click on open.  If you want more pics, click on more attachments.  I learned a lot of this by trial and error.  I too have some posts out in cyber space floating around.  Hope this helps a little.  At first it was very complicated for this old man. As time goes on it gets easier. H^^

PS:The attached was sent to me on Veterans Day.  jeh

Dick;

If you are still having trouble, email it to me.  I will convert it to jpg and send it back to you.
