There is an old saying here in central Mississippi; "If you don't like the weather, wait around 15 minutes and see if that suits you". This Sunday and Monday are a good example. Sunday, it was 79deg with winds of 15mph and gusts to 22mph. Today, on Monday, we had a high of 32 with a wind chill of 18deg. High winds again.
With the high winds on Sunday, it was not control line weather so I got out the stunt kite. I fly the kite on the shore of the Barnett Lake and with the 15mph wind steadily blowing off the water the speed of the kite across the wind window was probably 60 to 70mph and higher in the gusts. My arm was so sore after a half hour of that pull, that I called it quits. I practiced insides, outsides, horiz eights and vert eights. I also did a couple of square (?) loops for the first time. More fun than a barrel full of monkeys.
