Vero Smoothie vs Original Smoothie dwgs?
« on: January 23, 2009, 06:13:56 PM »
Guys,

Since we got blown off I will repost my question about the difference between the Veco Smoothie vs the Original Smoothie. As I see it all they did was move the mounts up and invert the engine and add the cowl more or less a straight line from the bottom of the wing. Does anyone have a small dwg of the Veco version they could post?

Best,     Dennis

Dennis, I've posted a free download on my site www.cadclassics.net  showing the basic conversion to invert the engine in the Brodak Smoothie.

As I relieve my mounts for a plastic tank, make sure that you set the bulkheads to reflect your style or preferences.

Just right click on the image, and save a copy to your computer. If needed, scale up so it fits a normal sized piece of paper, and print.

Cheers.

Both of the Veco Smoothie kits I built way back when showed the option of upright or inverted by the position of the formers when construction of fuse was started.  DOC Holliday

The old plans showed an alternate way of installing the engine inverted,
It showed the beam mounts held to the fuse sides with wood screws and the engine installed inverted with the
top of the engine lugs against the beam mounts (old person memory) This gave you the look of the planes, front end shown on the kit box
I really loved that look, but when I saw the installation ( I was about14-15) I had to pass and build the nose alternate which was like the Squaw, chief ect.   :'( :'(
