Unwanted e mails? What to do?

      Hi All:

      Recently I have been receiving e mails from an engine site that I did not ask for and all I get are replies to questions asked by members of the site.  I did not register for this web site.  The latest is that there is a virus attached to the site that will lock up my computer if I open the mail, When I click on the message to send it to spam, the computer will lock up and I must restart the computer.  I can not delete these e mails.

     How can I track down the person if any, who has orchestrated this problem?   I can not get on the engine site, the source of the e mails.  When I try, all I get are related sites that are no help to get me to the original source of trouble.

    Help or suggestions please.

   I ran into some problems and had the Geek Squad clean up the mess.  it wasn't cheep (around $200)  but they cleaned up my desktop, laptop, and a Ipad.  I am  covered for a year and renewals are cheep and include virus protection for all three machines.  They did a great job - was well worth the price.

All suggestions so far, plus: get yourself an email program that won't automatically open anything you click on, or find out how to delete emails without opening them with the program you have.

Using a Microsoft email client is like living in the bad section of town with a room mate who'll open the door for anybody.

If this is your Yahoo mailbox as shown in your "profile", they seem to be pretty good about sending mass mailings to the "spam" can...just hit "Empty" on the Spam bin and don't even look at the contents. If these emails get into your regular inbox, click on the box in the left margin and hit "delete" without opening them.

If you don't have the email address to the troublesome site in you address book, they should not come into your normal inbox, but some still manage. Yahoo is very difficult to contact to get help, from my experience. If anybody knows how, it would be much appreciated! The alternative is to change your address. "G mail" seems to be popular, but beware that it's a Google product and they will try to insist that you use Chrome and their toolbar, etc., which irks me considerably.     Steve
