Title: C.G. Shift vs Leadout Shift ?
Post by: Harleyman on June 24, 2006, 01:08:34 PM
My Talon is my first airplane with adjustable lead outs.  On the first and only flight so far I know I need to move the lead-outs forward a bit, they were back as far as they can go for the first flight.  I also had too much nose weight on it so that will be removed.
I need to understand how a change in CG effects lead-out location.

As the airplane loses nose weight, should the lead outs be moved forward or back?

Thanks in advance.

Harleyman,

1st, determine the *new* CG location at the wingtip.  Set the leadouts behind that point anywhere from 1/2 to 1".  Then you can begin the trimming process by using Paul Walkers trimming flowchart.  You can find the flowcart at the PAMPA Web site, I believe.   y1
