Title: Byron Barkers Envoy
Post by: Andrew Saunders on February 15, 2014, 03:24:52 PM
Today i picked this plane up from Byron Barker's wife Jane. This was Byrons favorite plane to fly. It has a Super Tigre .60 which i just took out and got freed up. The engine is still in great shape. Im gonna replace the tank, and recover and repaint the plane. Gonna make it a tribute to Byron.

Maybe this is a dumb question, But why re do it? If it is in reasonable condition I'd leave it the way Byron had it and just fly it occasionally.

Just saying..........

The covering is very loose and wont shrink down and falling off in areas, the paint is worn off in areas and left bare wood. Gonna refurbish it to keep it in good shape.

You will love Byron's Tigre 60, I don't know what he did to them, but they run  great . We  miss him a lot .

Yeah i have a few of his engines. He belonged to my club. I took the engine out and had to take it apart to clean it out. Was pretty gummed up with castor. Turns and flips great now and still lots of compression. Byron did great work on engines.
