I get Randolph dope from a dealer near my home in Fort Worth. There is a dealer in Estherwood, LA but I don't know how far away from your home he is. Landry Aero  800-280-2884 or 337-783-7366. I have had very good results with all their products, clear and colored.

I buy Randolph colored butyrate dope from Aircraft Spruce.  Randolph has a huge selection of colors and is priced pretty reasonably compared to butyrate made specifically for models.  The most fuel resistant butyrate dope I have found is Sig Light Coat, Randolph is next, and Certified is next.  I use Sig Light Coat butyrate clear for the final clear coats but I use Randolph dope for colors because of their huge selection of colors.

I use dope in unmarked cans given out by Spencer Aircraft at our Puyallup contest.  It might be Randolph.  I got some blue and some white.  I had to bum some black from Dave Pellerin to make gray.

Hope this helps.

Unless I'm painting my house, my colored butyrate needs are typically small.  Colors cover well, so one or two sprayed coats is all I need on a new plane.  That would typically be about 4 oz.

Therefore, I buy colors in pints, or sometimes in 4 oz. bottles.  All this is Brodak...because it is readily available and is also a pretty good product.

I use much more clear butyrate, which I get from Aircraft Spruce, 2 gallons per order.  Thinner comes from  a local industrial paint supplier as PPG Acrylic Lacquer thinner.
