Title: Busting balloons with a Bi-Slob at the Nickless Fun Fly-Lansing Michigan
Post by: frank carlisle on September 17, 2007, 05:41:31 AM
The Tim Nickless Fun Fly in Lansing was a huge suuccess this past weekend. Guys from Detroit, Flint amd Kalamazoo converged on the circles in Lansing and had a great day.
One of the events was the balloon bust and I opted to use my Bi-Slob to the crowds delite.I womped the ground a few times but John Paris got me back into the air quickly. I broke one high point value balloon with a legal maneuver to take second place. The rest of the balloons didn't count because I was breaking all the rules. Inside and outside loops weren't permitted and hitting the balloons inverted was prohibited, but the hoots and hollers from the crowd  got me doing wilder things which eventually resulted in a busted stabilizer. At one point I hovered the Slob within John's reach and he snatched it out of the air and busted a balloon with the prop while holding the plane. That got a rise out of the crowd. It was a great day and that Slob flight was a blast. We're talking about having a Bi-Slob balloon bust next year in which anything goes..........

That is great.  I remember when the old Sky Devils of KCMo had a two class balloon bust, novice and expert.  Expert was where you could only attack inverted.  Could you beleive I got dizzy flying inverted.  I did not fly stunt at that period of time.  Have fun.  DOC Holliday
