Just need to ask a few questions about the Top Flite Score. This will be my first full body plane and I need some advice. First I'm not sure about what motor to use? I have an LA 46, Supertiger 51, and a O.S. 46 SF as power options. Next is the fuel tank problem! Does anyone have any good recommendation's as what would work best? In the past I've only built profile type planes with uniflow metal tanks. This clunk type tank they provide in the kit looks like it would mount at the wrong height per directions. Only thing I can say for sure about is the leadouts and control hookup to control horns will be changed. I would appreciate any advice on this plane anyone could give. Thanks in advance.

I would definitely suggest the ST 51 in the Score. Many have used the clunk with success.

I agree with Bill. The LA46 is not enough power for this plane. I have a DuBro 8 oz tank in mine setup on uniflow. I am running a Double Star 60BB in mine and do not need that large off a tank, but it fits with no problems or added cutting to install.

Duuuuuuuuuuuude . . . .
Not only is the stock tank gonna be at a weird height if done as per directions, it's also too small. Try a six ounce Sullivan or similar. Shim it where you know it to be correct. Ignore the directions.
Also search the forums for more building advice. The control system, less the horns is garbage. The model's weight is also an issue. They build anywhere from 60 to close to 70 ounces. Assemble it with an incidence meter to be sure it's straight and square. Decent flyer, though. Have fun.

I do not know the capacity of the "kit" tank. (???) But a Sullivan RST 6 oz. is the ticket.
As to shimming, we only do the "turn the cap" deal with clunk tanks. An overflow, a uniflow, and a feed line. Twist the cap so that the uniflow goes up or down as you would if you moved the tank.

I've read that the LG mounts are not properly done (in the wing). Plan on going into the bottom side of the wing and add a vertical support for the short leg, and beef it up as required, or just seal it up and go to a fuselage gear. I prefer a wing mounted gear, but will probably put it on the fuselage.
The .46SF might work fine, but the G.51 will, for sure. A 6 oz clunk tank will work. My favorite (DS .60bb, a ST .60bb clone) will be power for one SCORE. The second might get a ST .60bb or G.51. I plan to take out the firewall and put in a Randy Smith type of crutch. #^ Steve
