You mean http://bugatti100p.com/.
Have they had it in the air yet?

Not flying yet, but I understand it is being built at Harvey Young airport right hear in Tulsa OK.. and Yes Art it is a very cool airplane. The one built in 1937 is at the EAA Museum.

An R/C version designed and built by electric guru Keith Shaw has been flying for many years. If they fly the replica, I'm curious if it will be twin engine, counter rotating props like the original? The original somehow survived the war, and was purchased by a vintage car enthusiast for the engines, which were roughly the same as what was used in some Bugatti automobiles at that time. The airframe was donated to or purchased by the EAA museum and restored there. They had it on display on the main floor once with an example of the car that used the same engine, and a detailed explanation of how it came to be there. Very cool to see! Mayb take to the air by next years AirVenture!!!???
Type at you later,
Dan McEntee

They have had a successful flight! Just a short hop around the field but no problems encountered. On the first flight a few months ago (just a straight ahead hop to 100 feet altitude and back) they lost a brake and the plane went off the runway at low speed and went up on its nose in the damp sod and damaged the props.

How did they solve the balance issue? Rear-mounted engine is hard to balance.
-
And I believe they have two engines.

Lots of pictures on their facebook page,

It has flown now,,
two hops,, the first was a straight take off and landing which ended in a ground loop damaging the props
It has since been refit with new props,, and has completed a test hhop including a circuit of the pattern
this is a magnificent peice of engineering and I am so glad to see this project progressing.
It is powered by two Hyabusa engines with gear reduction drives
