That is fun to watch.   Shows speed is not a simple event to fly.   Keep the videos coming.

Actually my experience shows that speed is probably the most difficult event to fly well!!!
F2c is right up there also!

I'll stick to stunt at least it's just frustrating!  Not disgusting!

My hat is off to the guys that fly speed well and F2C well...they are the true CL Modelers!

I just watched the video and it was just like being there. I know, because I WAS!! Great weather both days. A new 1/2A speed record was submitted for Carl Dodge on Saturday at 140.24 MPH I do believe. Final results will probably be posted in the speed section of the forums. I don't fly speed, mainly because it's another aspect of the hobby I wouldn't have time for to enjoy even at a low level of success! But I do enjoy helping with the timing and such and watching these guys do their stuff. It's not the best spectator sport, but if you have an understanding of what is going on and at least a passing interest in speed, well worth the time to attend a contest and watch and even help out. Many of these guys have been on US FAI Speed Team to the World Champs. If time and budget permitted, I would have to try at least 1/2A Proto, or one of the other sport speed events. And it was great to see good ol' Glenn Lee attend also. Talk about one of the great legends of the event! That description fits Glenn to a T and he's a great guy also. If you have any thoughts on attending to compete or just to spectate next year, there are lots of hotels in the area, camping close by, and plenty of other conveniences. And Buder Park has in itself a long and historical past. I think it's the last speed circle this side of the Rocky Mountains. If there is another one, let me know.

Hi Dan,
There's one in Tucson...Don't know if you consider that on your side of the Rockies or not...actually I guess it's sort of neutral with regard to the Rocky Mountains.  We are on Mountain Standard time..year round.
There's a speed event held here about once each year, and there aren't even any speed fliers here in Tucson.  Just a bunch of "Ust'a Be's" that help out.  There are of course several in Phoenix!
