Utterly amazing, is it not? Similar things here in Washington state.  All playgrounds are closed. All public lands are closed, all fishing is closed, etc. but, BUT, you can still go stand in line at a pot shop or a liquor store, that you can do and it's apparently fine.

This is because those things generate revenue for the state, most people buying pot are liberals, and these things help to keep the masses pacified, but most outdoors people are conservative voters which is why these activities are closed. Well, for those willing to simply obey anyway.

The issue at our local county funded flying site is too many people using the park at one time . Spectators and Locals  just wanting to get out and enjoy the facility, non modelers  , and a few potential flyers ..

The guidelines for a safe distance and limit to large gatherings is a issue for all parks ,

We implemented a change in policy this week to help out with crowds , All park pass holders at Huntersvilke flying site have a key to the gate entering the park.

We are now locking the gate after we enter, only park pass holders are in the park , no spectators , no locals , etc

This new procedure has helped keep the flying field open for now .. We also stooped having meetings and try to limit the social gatherings ,

Fred it seems it's usually floods that close Buder this time of year.  Guess that's yet to come.  Yesterday I pulled the trailer out to our field to mow it for the first time this year.  It is in a pretty remote area and on many days I can be out there for hours and not see another living soul.  Even more so since the Coups of Eng. put dirt piles on top the river levee to keep the teenagers from racing on the top of it.  Yesterday though was different.  I think with the stay at home orders people are getting bored and looking to get out.  In the hour I was there there was a young couple in a pick up who wandered off into the trees to do what young couple do, a fisherman (never seen one here before ) scale the levee to get to the river, a pack of about six dirt bikes running back and forth atop the levee and another six or seven vehicles coming through looking for something to do.  Strange to stand in an open field and feel like you are in a crowd.   I like solitude out there better......

That is one of the things I kind of like about the circle Dave.   It is amazing that schools are closed as well as some businesses and of course the Churches.  The I look out the window and see kids playing with each other.  People walking their dogs or just walking.  Of course with the inter net we are having on line services done by our pastor and his family.  Would have been there but was at my sister's place all day. Schools here have been closed for about 5 weeks. I slipped over the a local middle school last weekend and put up a couple of flights. Decent weather and no one around. Kinda creepy, but at least I got a couple of flights in.
