I was at Ian Smith's Cardinal Stunt comp on the weekend and saw this. It's called Brother Peace by Dennis Percival, the engine is an OSFP15.  Looks alright eh!

Sorry that is the only photo I took.  If you look closely though you will notice is is a Peacemaker wing with the tips reversed. So if you have a Peacemaker plan you can see how the Bellcrank and controls are arranged.

The first time I clicked on that thumbnail, it opened in a second window, which would allow clicking in the window to enlarge the picture. Now it doesn't work, and only the smaller picture is shown in the separate window. 

Anyway, the leadouts were easier to see in the enlarged picture.

The tank on that airplane is really short! Is that home made, or a commercial tank?

Bill, the + worked fine for me, but I still couldn't see any sign of leadouts. But it did remind me of the Aussie lawns that I 'admired' in '83. Strange grass. I bet it's tough stuff! Does it need watering or mowing? If not, it might be perfect for our new flying field. Is it resistant to glow fuel, or only diesel?  Steve

Looks a little like the Bermuda grass we had in New Mexico, but Bermuda grass doesn't grow unless it's over 90F. It was plenty hot in NM, so other grasses would burn out.

On another topic, are there any model swap meets there in the coming months? The Boeing Hawks usually had them twice a year, but we no longer have them here in Portland that I know of. Kind of miss the swap meets, and particularly the Puyallup Expo.

Bill, The tank looks to be home made... it looks a bit small for a 2.5cc to me. (ie maybe 1 oz)

Steve, The event was held at a High School so the grass is most likely Kikuyu, which is very common here as it is a hard wearing ground hugging grass suitable for playing fields, schools, parks etc. Also is is cheaper than most other turf.  It requires regular mowing in the warmer months.  It tends to brown in the winter and has high resistance to cold and frost. It's a good all round grass for playing fields, yards and parks.

The other popular grasses here are Buffalo and Couch. Buffalo is a broadleaf grass, very strong, and expensive but does tend to go black in the winter. Couch is much finer and used for bowling greens, golf greens and lawns. Couch doesn't like cold or shade.
