Sorry I couldnt make it. Ended up working on Friday so I couldnt get up there. I did make it to Haslet, Tx for a FF contest up there. Got to see some great rubber scale shootouts, and it ended up being a rather...productive trip for me as well :)

Great pictures! I will make a massive effort to be their next summer. Scale for sure and I might be ready for some novice stunt.

Sean I think your motor fell off. LL~
Just kidding. I think you know a little about trimming a plane.

Ok I need to make a confession. My girlfriend Crystal has been going to contests for about a month now. She went with me to the Dallas Stunt contest on Labor Day weekend. She had a pretty good time, got to meet everyone in the Texas/Oklahoma area, spent a good deal of time talking to Al Rabe (shes a HUGE Mustang fan and went nuts when I showed her pics of Als Mustangs here on the forum), and had fun overal. So I took her to the Haslet FF contest. I was standing in the glider pen for my first CLG flight, and she was timing for me, when she goes "Theres a thermal" I looked at the mylar streamers--nothing too promising according to them. But I hadn't put up an official yet so I could burn this one flight and not be in a bad position. So I launched...right into a boomer. Must have made it to about 600ft before the DT went off. Couple flights later, same thing "theres one", I launch, and chased for awhile. Crystal is an AH-64 mechanic, and when she's on the ground crew, she has to keep an eye out for thermals on the ramp so that when the pilot pulls back on the collective to start taxi, he doesnt do so in a thermal and end up taking off. So, in all fairness, I placed thanks to her skillful air-picking. Think I ended up 4th in HLG too. While I was out chasing my glider, Mark Covington, one of my Colorado FF buddies and one of the better HLG flyers in the country, handed her one of his gliders and gave her a quick how-to, and she was chucking it pretty well when I came back. Then after officials were over, I got my CAT glider back out and let her take a few shots. "Yeah I could do this" was her reply. Looks like I will be building for two this winter....

Sean..
You clearly cheated on 3 counts ;D
Using military intelligence ( yours )
Using a female visual distraction unit ( of FVDU )
Second Count of misuse of military intelligence ( Crystal's thermal spotting )
