Elwyn,
Did you get a picture of Clancy's finished JYW plane? Looks like he started a built up wing?

I finally left for dinner and they were still putting all the pieces together. Haven't seen the finished product yet.

My son Shawn and I finished our junkyard model a bit late Friday evening. The threatening rain that was actually showering on us at the start of the event caused us to flee under a tent approx 2 foot above ground. Let me tell you how I regret being hunched over for that build. Our model wasn't pictureworthy but it was the effort. All in all, I can honestly say after building the model it required the wing to be moved back a few inches,  it flew well for what it was. Powered by an Enya.19 Shawn made it through a few loops and then inverted. I felt it was a successful flight. We were real purists that evening with very little to use and it surely made us laugh seeing it. I think the event is very crowd pleasing. You just have to laugh. Everyone that evening made some cool models and they all flew quite well for bricks. Ken

Elwyn
The problem we had getting our model built was a bad new battery for our table saw.
I bought the saw used on eBay with battery and charger plus some extra blades.  For a backup I bought a new battery.  The used battery lasted for about 20 minutes.  We put in th NEW battery and after about 15 seconds it quit!  We only had one box knife between us to cut out the 16 half ribs.  With the table saw it would have taken only a couple of minutes.  I had designed the model to only require straight saw cuts, that is why we had planned to use the battery powered table saw.

Team Clancy has to be the oldest kids in the JYD competition.  Also we may have to wait for the next "Control Line World" to get results.  There are a lot of events to be covered.  Like carrier, combat and racing. H^^
