The 2012 racing rules are posted on the Brodak website under 'Flyin'.

Who gets to make the decision? The CD's or the ED's? Do the new rules also apply to ED's and the two CD's?

Thanks Tom for the update. I was looking on the site for the dates next year. Do you know them yet?

Paul,
Normally it is the week before Father's day, so for 2012 I would guess 11-16 Jun 2012.

I won't be able to make a decision to go until about (2) weeks before the contest. Will there still be motels available reasonably close to Brodaks. It will be my first visit.

I'd suggest staying in Uniontown rather than Waynesburg. More hotels and restaurants, hence better selection. You might want to make a reservation and be sure you can cancel without charge. Most motels will permit this more than 24 hours from arrival. Check of course, your mileage may vary.

Hey Tom can you confirm the dates John provided here?
-
It's always Tuesday - Saturday before father's day. So for this year, father's day is June 17, and the contest runs June 12 - June 16. The celebration starts the previous Friday and runs through the weekend and Monday. I'd try to come on Saturday June 9 for practice and good times.

The Holiday Inn Express in Uniontown will be the official hotel. I have the contract in the mail as of today. Their number is 724-437-2816. Wait a month before making reservations. They must be made prior to May 10th, 2012 to be effective. Price will be $99.00 plus taxes etc. Know their cancellation rules.

Back to the original post, there was a racing rules update.
I guess someone's deportment was abhorrent regarding race fuel last year?
Thanks for adding to my vocabulary. Not. (directed to the ill-behaved person or persons).

The problem with almost every event that tries to be entry level is an expert or two that decides he can enter and take home the hardware. Stunt seems to be the exception as most respect the classes and fly in the proper class. Weeding out the experts as the new Brodak rules seem to be trying to do I see as a good move.

Thanks Tom and Allen for the motel information.

You are quite welcome.

Who would one contact in order to discuss some of these newer rules? Ken

Jon Saunders, the ED.

I wish that a stuffer backplate was allowed, not for performanc reasons but because I would like to use my Dad's old 1958 Fox and don't want to break the crank. T.J.
