Post by: tom hampshire on June 22, 2009, 01:09:47 PM
Brodaks 2009 - Thanks to all who came, and made it a very enjoyable time.

A great event, no real problems except the weather.

Hope all made it home safe, looking forward to next year.

Tom,
You and Allen put on a great contest !!!  A big Thanks to you and Allen!

Ryan and I had a great time! I put this right up there with Disney World, without the fire works. (Well maybe Dan Banjock and his Mig is like fire works?) LL~

Tom,
This is hard for me to admit (tounge in cheek) :P, but you did a great job. You and Allen always have it covered from start to finish. I am looking forward to next year already!  ;D

I agree with you, Mike - outstanding contest, Tom and Allen kept everything moving and lively.  We all need to thank Mr. Brodak  for his hospitality

and his willingness to use his home time and again, at great sacrifice, for this event to be successful.

It was great to see everyone, and to fly with all you guys.

And, congratulations., Mike for your historic win in Expert with your stunning Mustang.

Hope to do it all again next year !!!

A compliment from Mike Palko... That has to mean treachery is afoot.  If I survive, I'll post a report of whatever disaster is visited on me.  Remember, today's juvenile delinquents are tomorrows Philly Fliers.  Tom H.

One other happy note - Pat Rowan paid us a visit.  Just for an afternoon, and he's on the mend.  Should take a few months, but not a bad outcome for heart surgery.

. . . no real problems except the weather.

Actually, we had good flying conditions every day; we just had to have the patience to wait for them now and then. Even then, no days ran late, at least on our circle(s).

Good organization and preparation on your parts allowed us all to enjoy the contest, and fly with no excuses. A special thanks to (first name ?) Snyder for doing an outstanding job as pit boss on the Intermediate circles each day. A good way to measure outstanding organization is not by what happens; but by all the things that don’t happen when things run smoothly, making the task look deceptively easy.

Allen’s method of assuring full cooperation from all was extremely effective – (if you weren’t there, Allen sometimes threatened a full kiss on the lips to those who didn’t pull their share of the load).

Thanks, guys!

Thanks for a great contest! Now if you could just figure out how to fix those dark overcast days. It plays heck with photography. ;D

Thanks Tom and Allen for a GREAT contest.  The only problem is...you want to be in 10 places at once, it was that much fun.  Next year, I'm guessing the dates will be June 15-June 19?

By the way I'm still trying to get back into daily life after spending a week at the field

Will, your pictures are terrific! We promise to do tighter formation next year. ;D We had planned the act for months, years even, but when it came down to it we had only 3 weekends to practice and they were spent figuring out Dan's vibration/runaway issues. When we showed up at Brodaks we had never completed the entire pattern together, hence some of the initial troubles we had ???. I look forward to seeing video's and pictures of the flights.

Thanks for sharing, Mike

Hey Mike,
I have most of both flights on video. Ryan has been working on our DVD burner so we can pull them off our camera and put some stuff on youtube. Problem seems to be with our burner. Might have to buy a new one. HB~>

Stay tuned......

Paul, I remember you said after one of my OTS flights, that it would probably be on youtube, no wonder it isn't on yet
