Hello
Building a Brodak Thunderbird wing for a chum. Any tweaks advised or kit good to go?
The spar looks to be 1/16 and a bit flimsy and not much in the way of spars/reinforcement in centre section.
Happy to be straightened out by my betters 😀
Cheers
Mike
PS. Its a Mk 1

Hello Mike, I built a Brodak T-bird, all kit wood. Flew nicely for me, believe it’s still flying somewhere in New England. No problem with structure, but use your judgement about replacing wood. Wishing you success!

Some of these things , the grade or weight of the tim bers a thing .
A minimilist device like a Mk 1 T - Bird , was maybe configured for stiffer wood .
In fact you may see 1/16 HARD , or 3/16 Sq. HARD on the odd plan or two . If Its a SPAR , or medium hard , as in FIRM for the L E & T E , if theyre square .
As in , a bit off ' Timber Selection ' may be in order .
