Can you coat the syringe with anything to keep the numbers from wearing off in one day?

I used packing tape and wrapped it around to cover/protect the printing...

Ditto what Dennis said. 2 inch wide clear packaging tape will last many seasons. Put it on before any usage at all. These syringes weren't designed for model fuel. I get 3 seasons with the syringe by disassembling, wiping plunger dry and leaving unassembled in a plastic bag till the next use. Good luck.

Before the marks disappeared, I scored them with a  razor saw and rubbed the marks with a Sharpie marker.
