A Valentine"s surprise

Well, my sweet Valentine wife surprised me with a RSM "Hunter Hawker" kit of Bob Whitely's 1969 classic design!!!!  http://www.rsmdistribution.com/index-2.htm
All of my building has been in the .46 size airframes. This one calls for .61 so, I am open for suggestions. If you could "wave a wand" what engine would you pick?

I think Z Man is on to something.  There's a lot of talk about the "new" Enyas........

Other choices are the Stalkers and the Ro Jetts.  Maybe a Retro Discovery .60?

(I would use a PA .65 SE if Randy can ever get more parts made! LOL!!)

That is way better then a box of chocolates.

As you know I only have experience with them blue engines. But if I had a magic wand I would wave it and produce a Ro-Jett or something with a PA in front of it.

Any one have experience with the new Enya 61? I have several Ro-Jett .40's and one PA .40, so I know them. I could go with a larger Ro-Jett or PA. Just still thinking about options.

I'd ask Bob Whitely for his recommendation.

I would use any of Randys' motors in the .60 range.  I too would opt for the .65 if
you can find one but there are plenty of .61's around that would work just fine.
The original Hunter had a Veco .45 and worked well but we all now know the
value of unlimited horsepower that is easily obtained nowadays.

I think you will like the plane, it is really easy to fly well. Best, RJ

Bob, thanks for the suggestion and Howard too for the pass to Bob. I know as I get into the build, I may get into a difficult spot or two. Would it be OK to drop you a note for the occasional guidance? I'll need to settle on the power otherwise the fuselage gets put on hold.

Warren Walker has one with a Super Tigre .60 and it is totally competitive.

I put a flight up with Warren's Hunter & the airplane flies really well.  I had never flown a Hunter before and aside from the differences in handle preferences between Warren & me it was very comfortable to fly.  With the .60 it was not overpowered; it seemed just right.

I actually have a RSM Hawker Hunter kit about to to be built. I bought a Tom Lay modified ST .60 for it but I was very fortunate to snag a used PA .65 side exhaust also...so now my delima is pick  which one.   So, to answer your original question of " waving the wand", if you could get a PA .61 or .65 side exhaust (because of the superior runability) that would be my first choice...then the T&L Tigre .60
