I tried a search on the Smoothie without the result I was loooking for. Putting the finishing touches to this ARC, and to find out the recommended tank to use is to wide. The tank is a Brodak BH 559. After I smoothed the edges on the sides of the tank, it will fit, but mods will have to be done for the top hatch to fit. The tabs will have to be removed as well as one flange opposite the wedge. These mods are simple of course, but are as part of the design I dont want to change. Is there another tank recommended to try?
Briodak calls for 3.5 oz tank which will not work with a 40 or 46 LA. I have plenty of length for a 4.5 oz tank. Thanks John R.

John...
Yup some type of error in the prototype department in that the recommended tank doesn't fit.
Try a narrow wedge uniflow (1 3/4") and you may have to move the rear of the tank compartment back...
Be sure to "box" it in to keep the nasties from migrating into the innards.

Be sure to reinforce the LG mounting plate- it is not very robust to say the least and sooner than later you will discover how weak it is and have to reinstall- when it collapses at the flying field it wil spoil your day- so take care of it on the work bench.
Aslo be sure to seal over the edges of the trim film - other wise you can expect problems with the covering. Other than that- it is a sweet flying airplane.

John: I don't know how much room you have for a tank, but have you checked out the Hayes 4 oz slim line tank? It's on Towers site.

Thanks for the replies and will work all into this. I covered it white with red and blue trim 1/8 width around the wing and tail surfaces. Will try to post soon. Thanks JOhn Rakes
