Brodak service....again
« on: January 12, 2012, 01:15:55 AM »
One of my flying buddies gave me a Vector kit, which he had stored for a year !

I set about building it, when I go to the elevator the control horn needed slight

re bending, but it snapped , broken. Because it is an unusual size I sent a photo

to Brodaks and received FOC a free replacement plus the flap horn

A Year old !............Now that is great sevice .......thank you Brodak

Yup, they have great service. But are you sure you want to use that new horn now?

Brodak's has long been known for great service.  We owe them for really bringing back so many products for C/L use.  And I believe it has spurred a few other companies to do the same.

Perhaps the break is due to higher material costs for chinese wire. I see a basic non bushed 3/32 control horn from our favorites supplier is now eights dollars. I am being priced right out of the hobby. I need to learn to make my own horns for these prices are a bit over the top

Time is money.  Eight buck is still fairly cheap considering the time.  Brodaks service is the greatest.  There might have been a stress crack in that horn to begin with, in which case whatever wire, from China or US. would have broke.  But I have to say there are issues with Chineese stuff and metal temperment.  I have had 2 blind nuts from Great Planes (Chineese) fail and and have never had a problem with Dubro (US).  So I threw away the Great Planes blind nuts and only use Dubro.

I 'heart' Brodak's Service. What a company...John has gone way out to provide a world of choice stuff for C/L.

I'm one of his greatest fans.

Yes, Brodak's is great on keeping customers happy.  I know from experience.  But, Eric rule at RSM Dist is great also as one of his kits got to me minus a couple of ribs.  I told him which ribs were missing and he sent another batch of ribs still minus the one I needed.  Sent another E-Mail before calling him.   Mean time I traced the rib on the plan so I could continue with the plane.   Found out later his cutting program had left the rib out.  Great man.
