Dallas Summer Heat
« on: June 16, 2014, 07:16:28 AM »
For the first time in a long time the temperatures were not in the 100s. That was the good news for the weekend.

Saturday had winds that were barely flyable, racing , OTS and classic flown but on by a few. We did a lot of hangerflying and the adjoined to Chubby's for food and more hanger flying.

Sunday at 6:30 in the morning winds were already 18 mph gusting to 30! The contest was blown out for the first time ever.  We did a lot of hangerflying and the adjoined to Chubby's for food and more hanger flying.

Sorry to hear about the wind, been the same here all spring. The reason I usually do my first flights for the year at Brodak's. We arrive a couple days before the contest starts just so I can get in a few practice flights.

Bob,
The winds are still blowing. The guys going to the Nats are having trouble getting any practice in. Hope to see you in Dallas soon.??

Christ,
Are you coming to the Charles Ash contest over Labor Day? It will be good to see you again.

I'd sure like to meet Bob Gieseke face to face! I have been reading about him since I was a kid. So many stories about "the man with the pipe".
