Hi, I have a Brodak .40 size profile Zero I soon be will building. It's been quite a few years since I built a control line plane but would like to try one out with electric power. What size motor would work best for this size plane? Also what timers are good and do any offer the 2-4 break like on a nitro? What size MAH battery do I need to be able to fly the full pattern? I seen on the Brodak website for a 40 size they recommend a 3542 outrunner on 4s. Im experienced with electric rc but that's only around a .15 size in rc but provides plenty of power. Thanks for the help!

Brodak also has info on their website about choosing a power system. I’d use a 2814 or 2820 with a 900-950kv, 4S 2800mah pack and a 10x6 prop. Maybe 11x6. Choose the motor that will balance the airplane. Fiorotti and Climb and Dive timers are popular choices if you want a active (2-4 break) setup. I think a badass ESC works well for active timers. I use Jeti which are not available so maybe the link above will help. The response time is what is critical when chosen ESCs. Very few ESCs work correctly.
