As yet, I haven't lost a spouse or kids, but have lost a Mom. That hurts so deep. It never goes away, completely, but one gets used to the ache, in time. Time doesn't heal all, but it eases the pain. My Dad went to join his bride a few months later, so I was a total orphan, next to go, before I'd got around the idea of being a half-orphan.
BUT, life does go on, and we owe it to - particularly - our parents to see that it does. You have picked up the torch; don't drop it. It will feel very heavy...
