I did a search, and what little I found was old info. Has anybody tried this covering, and if so, what do you think? A friend of mine is interested in using it on a stunt trainer (or series of trainers) due to the low price. I'm wondering if it's in their clearance section due to quality issues. Thanks.

Kim, I have used this covering on two planes and have had no issues with it.

The only problem I had was when I ordered Gold. It had no backing.

It has been on my Olympus for five years with few problems.

I've been lead to understand that it is the same as Ultrakote and Oracover

I had the same problem with the Gold as Phil did. They made it good though

I have recently used it to cover an Akromaster. I really liked the gray and the red. However, don't let the heat get too high, it will turn brittle. Also, I had trouble with my heat dryer gun on high. Just some real careful swipes.
Is that typical of all coverings? I haven't used ultracote yet but have some for a Vector, which I don't have time to build.
I did have problems with the transparent purple. It didn't have much "sticky". I used some by sandwiching it between layers of the other colors and it worked up nice. I probably won't try to use the rest of the roll.
But I would buy the solid colors mentioned in a stitch, especially at two for the price of one.
