What are the preferred Hotels for Brodaks? Is there one in particular everyone likes to stay at? Are there dates for the event yet? Sam and I are going this year no matter what. I want to start planning. Thx Mike

Thanks for the reply Bob but I was really looking for a consensus of the forum members who attend. I want to be at the hotel where most people stay.

Well, I cannot recommend the Park Hotel. I think that is the name, it use to be a Holliday Inn I think. We had an inside room on the second floor facing the interior where the pool is. The kids made all kinds of racket until past eleven pm. Then some clown sat down next to the pool and proceeded to play guitar until after midnight. The air hockey game also made for more annoyance. The management doesn't seem to enforce the posted rules. Lastly, the hotel does not have an elevator. Bad news for someone with a bad knee or other disability. If these things don't bother you, then stay there. As for myself, on the third evening of putting with the racket, I dressed and drove over to the Hampton Inn a block or so away and got a room for the rest of the week. We checked out of the Park Inn in the morning and never looked back. We like staying in Uniontown because there are lots of restaurants and stores.
Disclaimer: I have no problem with kids having fun in a swimming pool. The hotel is just a lousy design so the interior rooms are subject to all the noise. Bad deal if you need to be up early enough to get back to Carmichaels and attend a 7:00 am pilots meeting. Hope this helps with your question. :o :o

Three of us stayed at the Park last year and Roy is correct about the rooms poolside. Other than that, going into the pool and hot tub was very nice after being at the field all day. One other thing, they had live music at the bar which was nice.

There were quite a few of us flyers that stayed at the Super 8 motel in Uniontown last year.
no pool or anything like that, butthe rooms were nice and the place was quiet and right next to a couple of good restaurants.

I believe that the Park was originally a big old "U" shaped thing and that the roof over the pool and stuff was added later.......
Ty is right about the noise, but you can request an outside room, especially if booking now....
Most of the fracking crews have done their damage and moved on, so rooms should be a bit more plentiful.
Have fun!
