Is the colored dope fuel proof? I know clear is but is the colored dope as fuel proof as the clear?

Greg, It works for me quite well. However I do not use any fuel above 10% on my Carrier stuff.

Brodak color is fuel resistant but not as fuel resistant as their clear. Best policy is to spray a few coats (at least) over the color. Otherwise raw or hot fuel will eventually discolor the finish creating "nitro stripes".                       Not a good thing. :(

From experience and also from conversation with John Brodak: The color dope is definitely not  n1 fuelproof.  The clear is fuelproof for low nitro if you put enough on.  By that I mean, lots.

Good to know, I stand corrected. That explains a lot. Also, don't do what I have done: Put on multiple coats of clear then sand/polish through it and back into the color. Great shine at first but doesn't last. 8)

Look closely at the airplane in the photo.  My GeoXL getting ready for flight with Bart K. holding.
The paint missing beneath the tank area happened the first time I filled the tank.  Fuel Proof...NOT!  Brodak Dope.  If you use this stuff, and I have a lot of it, make sure you cover it with 2 part automotive clear!  It simply turns to liquid with raw fuel and runs off on the ground.

Holy Cow Randy, what type of fuel do you run in that plane...25% Nitro? Looks pretty bad, nice picture though. It may even get a few more NE fliers to consider moving out of the snow belt and into the sun belt. 8)

OK...are you ready...That's a Belko long shaft .56 and runs only on NO NITRO Fuel!  Methanol and oil only!  The Methanol alone will do it!

I wondered if anyone would pick up on this!

That picture was taken about 3 years ago in January at the Southwest CL Regional Champ's.

About 75 degrees.  C'mon down...no place better for CL Stunt.
