Brodak Cardinal Decal Font
« on: February 24, 2007, 07:55:58 PM »
Does anyone know what the font that is used for the Cardinal Decals is called?  I would like to do my FAI number on my Cardinal in the same font...

Here it is directly from the guy that made the original decal.

The font is called "Sundance" it is a MAC font I purchased from a clipart vendor (Bright Ideas)

I also slanted the font to resemble italics.

Thanks Sam, so you're responsible for it eh?  I've spent hours and hours searching for it on Google. All John Brodak could tell me was that they had it done in Philadelphia. So now how do I get it so that my decal guy can make me a decal with my FAI rego number for my Cardinal?

Cheers

Hi Warren,

I didn't actually do it.  I do a lot of work for John and happen to occassionally work with the guy that does all his decals and box labels.  I cut and pasted his response into the message so the 'I' is him not me.  Hopefully there is enough info in his response for your guy to get the font.  If not send me a PM and I'll see if I can get him to send it to me.  I doubt if he will be interested in doing a single decal for you since John usually gets them in sets of 250 or more.

The nearest font we've been able to find is one called "LONE WOLF" maybe that will have to do.  I dont think your guy would be as cost effective as my guy, especially since I am on the other side of the world and my guy is happy to do one offs for me. Thanks anyway.

Hows this for a top bloke.  My decal guy called me today, said he couldnt find the correct font so he modified an existing font "Lone wolf" to match it. He copied from the Brodak Cardinal Decal sheet just so he could make me my MAAA number in Red with a white border. A one off.  What a guy... he really loves his work.

That's great Warren,  I'm glad it worked out.  I spoke with that did the original again and I think he would have sent it to me but he said it only works on a mac and not on a PC which is what we use.  Post a pic when you get it done and let us see how it looks.

You will need to put your sun glasses on for this one...  I'm still waiting for the decals to arrive... but here's how it's shaping up...

Warren: You weren't kidding about the sun glasses, you shouldn't have a problem locating YOUR model though. **) **) **) **)
