Title: Brodak Bearcat
Post by: Tom Rounds on October 14, 2010, 02:56:20 PM
I have heard that Brodak is coming out with a built up fuse. Bearcat. Anyone have any specs or information on this kit?
Thanks,

But it says its a profile model and it says comes with machined fuselage??, It kind of looks like a wider than profile fuselage in the picture, I guess well see when it comes out.

I saw a prototype Bearcat with a full fues last week. It was, I think, a three line bird. A standoff scale model. But the wing looked plenty thick. Perhaps we have duel purpose (or duel possibility model) like the old Sterling kits that could be rubber, could be engine powered, could be free flight, could be ukie... (Guess that would be more than two.) Someone said it was Pat Johnson design. Looked nifty.

It doesn't look like one of Pat's designs, but I suppose it could be. Certainly looks like a built up fuse.

One was hanging in the Brodak Hobby Shop back in June that fits that description.  Nice looking plane too.

That is indeed a Pat Johnston design. I've had the plans for nearly 3 years. There is also a profile version, which uses the same wing as this full fuse stunter. I have that one too with built wing, fuse(built up profile) and tailfeathers collecting dust on my bench, waiting for me to get off my can and finish it. The built up fuse kit will be a heck of a bargain for the money, whenever John finally releases them.

Rich, Those that got the Spitfire also got one heck of a bargain. A really nice kit for very little money.

 Dennis,

You might be looking at the 38" one, which is a profile. That one is a re-do of the older J Roberts one. The new and bigger one is full fuse.

Like I really need another kit, but holy cow, I really like it.  Gotta have one when they are available.
