Jim Armours' Epic III
« on: November 01, 2018, 11:33:36 AM »
My current building project is a tribute to a friend of mine, Jim Armour from out here in Southern California.  I decided to build his Epic III model and power it with a Super Tiger 60 just as he did.  I'm also going to copy (as best I can) the typical Jim Armour paint scheme.  I have a side view photo of the Epic III and some other top view photos of other ships he built (he typically painted all of his planes with very similar graphics).  What I don't have is a top view of the Epic III so I can see the font he used for the planes name and his  AMA number.  Does anyone out there have any photos of this plane so I can get this detail?  If so, could you email them to me at dave@westprint.com?

BTW, I believe Jim's Epic III is from the early 90's or so, maybe earlier.  For power, I have a Randy Smith Super Tiger 60.  Its his 167th based on the  number etched in the bottom of the engine.  The back up motor is a Randy Smith Super Tiger 60 and is his 37th.  Again based on the number etched in the bottom.  I think its cool that I have motors of the same vintage as the original airplane.

Regards.

Bill & Matt,
Thanks for these pictures.  They are EXACTLY what I was hoping for.  Bill, just an FYI, although I'm currently building and flying CL Stunt more now than ever before in my life, my contest days are over.

Regards,
