Nice Surprise Hobby Shop
« on: August 06, 2014, 07:36:53 PM »
While visiting family in Detroit this week, I drove past a place called Prop Shop Hobbies. I turned around and went inside expecting it to be an RC ARF O Rama. Well to my surprise what did I find? A pretty respectable amount of SIG and Brodak CL kits, not to mention dope, lines, handles and bellcranks. Even a few CL ARF's. Also lots of stick and tissue planes and some really nice laser cut hand launch glider kits that are produced locally. I bought 1 CL kit (like I need another). Also 4 rubber kits and 3 of the laser cut HLG kits to build with Samuel. It was like the hobby shops I remember as a kid. If you are ever passing through the Detroit area it's worth a stop.  Mike

how refreshing. it's nice to know people there are building enough to warrant that kind of stock.

Yup.

Prop Shop is THE LAST real hobby shop here. It's way across town for me so I don't get there very often but several friends and myself try to make the trip every so often just to try to support it.
