Little ELF
« on: April 05, 2010, 08:51:22 PM »
I came across this in a box of engines I've had around for a while.
Yes, I know it's an ELF but that's all I know.
Can anyone tell me more about it. Size? Year? Value? What kind of runner it is?
I will try and run it soon.
I have other ELFs but they look completely different.
Look at the little brass cylinder on the intake tube - it's actually a miniature float bowl.

OK, engine gurus - Have At It!!!

With that vertical plug it could be an Elf model 1. Produced from 35-39 and .138 cu in displacement. Approximately  400 built. Ought to be worth a few quid. No price guide on the source I checked. Reproductions exist on most Elf models so that could be a big factor.

Often referend to as  the "Corncobb" Elf it is the first model but it does have a different "look" to it, possibly a replica. I'll do a bit of research tonight and see what I can find.
