I started building the Privateer two years ago from a John Lowry short kit. I got on the stick about a week and a half ago and did the little I needed to get some paint on it. Now I just have to finish the bottom cowl and break in the Silver Foxx 40, then it should be flying shortly. I haven't really decided on the trim yet but it will be simple. Brodak Ivory is on it now so I have a wide color choice to pick from. The WS is 54" and as it sits it's 26 1/4 oz.

Hi, Lee, nice looking ship!  I had the honor of building and flying the prototype of the Privateer, and put over 400 flights on it.  Really good flying stunter, easy to build and fly well.  Then, we made one just a little bigger, called the Defender, with various ST 51/ST 60, Magnum 53, etc...like it's smaller brother, a superb flying machine.  Kudos to Allen Brickhaus and Byron Barker.  You'll love flying your Privateer!

Bill,

You did a wonderful job building, finishing and presenting your Privateer in various formats.  Great job Bill.

I really like the "Chief-like" qualities of this design and am very interested in the possible existence of plans for the larger Defender. If they are available, how might I get my hands on a copy?

Psssst! Dave...just have Alice call Alan B....I bet she can swindle him out of a set of plans without running up a big phone bill.  LL~ Steve

Thanks Doug and Paul. Even though I won't fly with them since I fly off grass, here's with the wheel pants.
