I have no dog in the fight.
« on: April 11, 2006, 05:52:01 AM »
I have been asked as to why I let some things go? Well if there is a product that someone would use please post it. I will let anything that is non political in nature to be posted. As long as it is done an informative way and is not a flaming statement or derogatory nature. I have nothing financial to gain. So no dog in the fight.

Not to speak for Mr. Storick but he explained it to me this weekend.
You can make a post about any brand product on this forum because he is not selling anything.

Example:  Someone can make a post about a new product that will be sold by Brand X.  There might be another forum that will not like you to post about Brand X because the other forum and Brand X might have a bit of a conflict with each other.

Just my understanding of "no dog in the fight".  Whatever the interpretation, I'm just having fun flying my planes. ;)

I haven't spoken to Robert, yet, but I *think* Chris is on the right track as far as I can tell.  There was a deletion of a post on another forum that highlighted one manufacturer in particular.

Well I kinda thought that was what Sparky's post was about but I needed to know for sure. Now I do.

I can see both sides of an argument that I'm not involved in. And nobody embroiled in all the political fighting ever comes out clean and looking good.

I'm glad the Brand X picture stuck somewhere though. It's pretty neat that someone is attempting to produce an easily afforded RTF electric model.

I've heard that DeWalt and Ryobi are soon to release new generation cordless tools featuring LiPo batteries. That could bring down our hobby prices as well.

Possibly, although my understanding from a WSJ article of a few months ago was an emphasis on more capacity for these batteries.

Cost is always an issue, but substantially increased performance is the key point.

Seeing production volume go up due to an increased demand from these and other manufacturers will no doubt help in reducing prices, of course...

...............of course DeWalt & Ryobi have been selling tool sets with NiCad batteries for years for less than what we pay for hobby equivalents. So maybe the prices won't be goibg down........
