Big Iron in hospital
« on: February 29, 2008, 07:42:30 AM »
I understand from the BOTR site, via a post by Bill Gruby, that Marvin Denny is in hospital for surgery.

Marvin is a friend and a great guy--please join in praying for a speedy and complete recovery.

Thanks,
Jim

You can add me to the list of people who will be saying a prayer for Marvin.  I have only talked to him once but he certainly made a big impression on me.  He truly is a gentelman.  Get well soon Marvin.

Yes Marvin is in the hospital for surgery. How long he will be there will depend on what they find. We all here in Connecticut pray for him and his family.

I spoke on the phone with him last night and he was in good spirits.

Marvin and his wife are two of the nicest folks we met at Brodaks last year. What a joy to be around.

We are here praying for Marv, and his doctors.

I was supposed to meet Marvin, for a cup of coffee, near Savannah about a year ago while he was visiting his son. That visit never happened but I did get to meet and speak w/him at Brodak's last summer.
Rootbeard is correct, he and his wife are great people and I will definitely pray for him and his family.

I spoke to both Marvin and his wife briefly yesterday afternoon and both seemed in good spirits and with a positive outlook for the operation.

I also pray that it went well for Marvin is a man among men and though we just met, I do call him friend.

For that matter I consider all of you fellas on this forum as friend.

Guess I should have posted this early today, but, Marvin is at home and called about the rule cross proposal that I sent e-mails out on.  Those that are interested can check it out on the AMA site.  So far he is only one from my district that responded.  He stated he is sore and no way possible to make that long drive to Tucson for the VSC.  He sounded in good spirits and I think a little over whelmed at the number of people worried about him.  I think he is supposed to be confined to bed, but, you know some of these kids are hard to control.  Later, DOC Holliday
