Boxes for shop stuff

Guys,
I going through my shop and need to get some of my supply of wood and MonoKote into storage boxes to make some walking room. Looking online for cardboard boxes 48' lone are very expensive. Anyone have an idea where I can look to scrounge up some used free ones?

Put a couple of muffler boxes together from your local muffler shop.
Some have built honey comb horizontal shelving to hold film covering & plans.
An old Sig balsa box is a great start for a template for one you build out of wood.

I did some dumpster diving at the local strip mall and scored a 6x6x96" box that will be cut for the film rolls and maybe a second for short stuff. I need to check out a carpet store to see what they toss. Also maybe a golf store.

I’ve used U-Haul wardrobe boxes left over from moves to store stuff vertically. Likely score some for free if you haul them away for folks who just moved in somewhere.

I don't know anything about guns, but are rifles/ shotguns packaged in cardboard boxes? Seems like an appropriate size if such things are available.

I have 4' neon lights in my shop and I stocked up on lamps before they were discontinued.....
I also had some of these boxes that had 20 lamps in each box....they make a great storage bin for balsa sheet, stick etc.
I have 8, 4 tube fixtures so it does not take a long time to have an empty box.

Go to a high end bicycle store. I store all kinds of stuff in these (great for moving framed art too. )
Bicycle boxes are great, heavy duty, they last a long time,  have grab holes and are easy to move around.

Flower shop.  The one near me tosses piles of long boxes.

Another option for rolls of covering and/or plans is to stand them up in a cardboard box (stand the flaps straight up and tape them to make it taller) or cardboard drum if you can find one.

Rifle boxes might be good for sticks, tubes, and music wire but their cross-section is just too small to hold much sheet balsa or rolls of covering.

I went to Engineer Supply and ordered some blueprint boxes. They can be used vertically or horizontally. I use them horizontally to store my wood.
