Rachel's latest ride...
« on: October 26, 2015, 08:40:30 PM »
Thanks to the generosity of "Leester" here on the forum I ended up with a nicely done Monokote finish Sterling F-94 "Starfire" model last fall. It hung on my wall waiting for a good home until just a couple weeks ago. I pulled it down and made up a new aluminum L/G for it, re-did the tailwheel wire, added a new set of wheels and a tank and then handed it off to 8 year old Rachel Sandberg just last weekend. During the past week Rachel and dad Keith mounted a spankin' new FP.25 on the nose and we all hit the field yesterday. Rachel did the maiden flight plus a few more and says it flies great!  ;D

...Rachel's "daily flier" lately has been the Shark 402 with a great running Fox .35...

Rachel looks so cool out there flying...she seems to "own" the circle when she is flying.  Hope her interest remains at the current level for quite awhile.

For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!

Yeah, she's gotten pretty comfortable out there this season. Here she decided to ditch the jacket mid-flight but then realized the "flying arm" sleeve wasn't quite going to work out. I didn't get any photos of some of her dancing in the circle during flights that was going on but like Keith said at that point, "maybe we all just take this stuff too serious!" ;D

I usually keep "loose" the same way. I can be found tumbling around the practice circles between rounds.  LL~

Seriously, kids flying always make for cool pics! Nice job.

I thought maybe she learned it from Howard. :##

She looks great and relaxed in those pictures.   Maybe a lesson to be learned.  Maybe also why my grandkids won't fly with me.  I get too serious at times.
