Title: Bolt on tail horn location
Post by: Dennis Toth on February 25, 2021, 06:20:09 PM
Guys,

Never gave it much though but on a recent ship I was getting ready to bolt on the tail horn and though is there a particular location with the holes over the hinge line or ahead of it or with the base closes to the hinge line? Does the location effect the control throw? What has been your experience?

I think having the holes slightly ahead of the hinge line would make the kinematics of the system correct.

Generally you want the line of holes in the horn lined up with the centerline of the hinge. Further forward will move it faster on the "pull" side than the "push" side, further back, the opposite.
