Hi Rudy,
Did you guys have good days for flying? How many participants did you have? Who brought home the bacon? I wish I could have attended, just couldn't leave wife, too soon after surgery. Do you have any pictures? If so; are you able to post them? I hope everyone had a good time. Have a great day, Gary
Hi Gary,
We missed you, but looking forward to seeing you at our next contest. :-) Sounds like your wife is doing well. I'm sure she appreciates how much you care for her to give up flying at our contest!

Yes, Mother Nature really smiled on us. We had beautiful clear skies, temps around 90F, "stunt heaven" air, <4 mph, in the AM, then mild winds of 4-8 in the PM. As you know, our field of three paved circles and two grass circles is in a very large park with large trees providing shade for all the enterants in the pits.
We had 48 pilots show up, around 20 from more than 350 mi. away. We got in 118 flights Sat., and 122 flights on Sun. We had a great staff of judges and workers. We had the pilots meeting at 8 AM SHARP on both days. Official flights were in the air on Sat at 8:16, and at 8:07 on Sun. We flew all day with no breaks to get all the flights in, but were driving away from the field by 5:30 on Sun. .... Did I mention that we had an EXCELLENT staff of workers?

Everyone seemed to be having a good time, but it may be more accurate to hear this from others that were there, I may be biased? ;-)
We have over 100 photos, and our official contest photographer will have them for posting very soon. I will put up a full contest report, in Robert's contest section tomorrow, after I fully recover from all the "fun" of being the CD
We did have some beautiful planes there. The Concores "Pilots Choice" award was won by Phil Granderson's gorgeous "DIVA". But it was close because Warren Walkers excellent new Hawker Hunter (RSM kit) and Chris McMillan's Fantastic, really large, Push Pull "Classic Legal" stunter pushed Phil in the voting. There were many other beautiful planes there, but these were the three that got the most votes. Keith Trostle's awesome, Nat's winning, Focke Wulf TA152 was there and flew really well in both Classic and Expert, and looked good doing it! Keith's plane is now another award winning RSM laser cut kit from Eric Rule.
BTW: RJ was the BIG winner. He took home a few trophies AND won the prestigious "PALMER" trophy. He will now have his name on this trophy along with two time "PALMER" trophy winner Keith Trostle!

More results and photos soon.
Regards,
