Bob McDonald's Jug

Anyone know anything about the beautiful yellow T-Bolt stunter of Bob McDonald ?  It has a red racing #8 on the rudder.  Is this a knock off of Bill W., or is it different ?  I love it for sure. I want to know more about it.  #^

September 18, 2011 at Cleveland. Also Bob's "Strathmoor" and "Perigee". 'spent a couple hours with Bill this evening at a place where he likes to play guitar on Tuesdays. He says he's built five P-47's and spends about 600 hours on each. Quote: "...no short cuts."

I saw the red "razorback / Dodge" fly and agree with Brett...I wonder why? Is Bob's a bit heavier? Or balanced differently? Maybe flown on shorter lines?

I remember pulling up to the hotel in 2008 when I arrived in Muncie for the C/L Nats, and Bob was pulling his Thunderbolt out of his vehicle, I thought immediately, I guess I'll just leave my plane in the car. Truely an awesome plane, probably the best I have ever seen.  H^^

He loves that Perigee too.  It's an all in line I beam Stathmoor with more leading edge sweep.  Polyspan on the wing.  He told me it doesn't fly like a big plane but it was one of the best flyers that he had.

Dan, Model Aviation Magazine ran a real good construction article on Bill Werage's Thunderbolt about 5 or 6 years ago, plans are available from them, I imagine, I think the wing is built from a Bob Hunt "Lost Foam" set-up. #^
