Bob Hope

Bob Hope was without a doubt one of the greatest entertainers of all time. A wonderful look at some special moments Bob spent with the troops during his many Christmas performances. Thank You to all the Veterans that ever spent a Christmas away from their family and to Bob Hope for spending his with them.

He and his troupe came to Camp Eagle in '69 or '70. We were given the choice of going to see him, doing KP or a perimeter sweep. I opted for the sweep........

Even tho I didn't get to serve I truly admired the man for what he did for our troupes.  I watched his specials each year along with family and wondered how he and his group got in and out of some of the areas.   He is one of the greatest.

I was never fortunate enough to see one of his live shows but I REALLY appreciate what he did.

I wonder if Dennis Rodman is going to do a Kwanzaa Special in N. Korea? Hopefully, he'll stay there for good.

There will never be another man like Bob Hope, who gave back to the troops his Humor and success as an Entertainer.
Alot of "Celebrities" and Entertainers need to take note of all he's accomplished.

I saw a show in Vietnam in 1968...had about 30 drop dead gorgeous women in it...Oh Yeah Bob Hope was there too...Great guy and one of the funniest comedians ever but a true Gentleman.  I had the opportunity to meet him once in the middle 1960's in germany at one of his shows...party given for the Base Commander.  Bob Hope was a genuine gentleman and very funny while being a nice fellow that seemed very down to earth...He could make jokes about women and golf all night!

I never missed the Hope Christmas specials. When my brother Ted was in Vietnam, I remember hoping he would get to see Bob Hope! And Miss Welch looks as good today as she did back then!!! #^ #^ #^ #^ y1 y1 y1  I agree with the one gentleman that said if he wasn't a saint, he should be! Some of today's crop of entertainers do USO shows, but you never hear about them, None certainly to the extent that Bob Hope did them. Another brother of mine was a St. Louis City cop for 40 years, and he got to work Bob Hope's security detail several times when he came to town. Mr. Hope always asked for big Irish cops who weren't afraid to take a drink and would laugh at his jokes! That fits my brother to a T!!
