Title: Bob Brookins
Post by: Greg Voumard on July 14, 2022, 03:53:43 PM
It is with great sadness to let you know that my friend Bob Brookins is dying after a short bout with pancreatic cancer
He loved this hobby and all of you.

Very sad to hear this. Bob was a great guy and would share his knowledge of building and paint without reserve.

Bob and Lew Woolard were fixtures at the Gluedobber contest for many years. Bob brought Lew and looked after him.

Bob is a great guy; it's sad to hear that he is passing.

Greg we are very saddened to hear about our pal Bob.  Please keep me informed as things go.  We meet up with Bob someplace 2-3 times a year and usually share a dinner table .

Thanks for reporting Greg.  It's a depressing moment when one realizes they've run into a corner they can't get a friend out of.
If you are seeing him it would be great if you could pass along sympathy from everyone who has met him.

Thanks,

Phil Cartier

He supplied me with special color Brodak paint for my Sharkfire plane and was happy to help me. As he was in the paint business maybe long exposure to fumes did not help his health. So using protection would be in order. ie:  3M™ Half Facepiece Disposable Respirator Assembly 5201, Organic Vapor, Medium.  God Bless.

This is hard to hear as I always got a big hug from Bob when we seen each other.  He was a gentleman and a great competitor.  Keep us in the know about him. :'(

What a sad news item to read. Bob and Elaine were always great to see at the Brodak FlyIn. He was such a great artist with paint as well as a constant friend. I am so sorry for Elaine's as well as our loss.

Very sorry to hear this. I had good chats on the phone with him when I ordered stuff.  I wonder what will happen to his Control Line store?

You have the wrong person.  Shttrman Bob Brooks is well I presume.  Bob Brookins is from Des Moines.

"You have the wrong person.  Shttrman Bob Brooks is well I presume.  Bob Brookins is from Des Moines."  Thanks for correcting me Dave.  I did not know Bob.  Still his death is a loss to Control Line.
