Fortunately my house is well stocked with food.   y1

I was stuck in my house for almost 1 hour, but not really concerned about starving to death.   :'(  :'(

You need to buy a snowblower. Or a tractor with an attachment. Or, you can buy "snow insurance" so that when it snows, a guy comes out with heavy equipment, digs you out and rescues you from the heavy snowfall that can happen at a minute's notice, practically anywhere in the Carolinas or especially, South Florida where no one is very prepared. The Keys would be a disaster if they got as much snow buildup as you have right now. Lambo's would be crashing everywhere...!

Or you could just snap a photo so you can remember that one time.....

Tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of the biggest snow storm we've had in the St. Louis area, which was measured at about 24" at the house I was living in at the time. It was officially 13.5" at Lambert Field which is only a few miles from me, but amounts varied much higher than that around the area and drifts were 3 to 5 feet everywhere. It started out as an all day rain on Saturday, well into the evening and snow was not expected, but there was a change in the front and we had thunder snow with lightning! I was working on a sail plane in the basement, and went to bed about 1am. I woke up about noon to the bright reflection of sunlight off the snow and a drift that was 3 feet high on my front door all the way across the street to my neighbors door!!  I shudder to think what the total accumulation would have been if it would have been all snow for 2 days! Wednesday they are calling for a similar scenario beginning on Wednesday with accumulation being predicted at 10 -12 inches, and the run on grocery stores for milk, bread, and eggs started yesterday! I'm sure traffic will be a horrid mess for the duration, but since I have been retired for a year now, I JUST DON"T GIVE A RAT"S A$$ !!!!!  n~ n~ #^ #^.  This is what I'll be doing,  Z@@ZZZ Z@@ZZZ Z@@ZZZ Z@@ZZZ

That is whats great about being retired.  I watch the neighbors scoop the snow flurries from their side walk and drive.   D>K

I ordered one of these.
Next time we get a half inch of snow, I'll be ready!

Ty, to your reply #5...

In Arizona mountains near the Mexican border, we do get occasional dustings. No need to buy any equipment: the sun is our snow shovel. It has been a few years, though..

That might do the job, Robert. Larue builds good stuff. Make sure it is at least a D45 model with the 235 hp Cummins; but if at possible, upgrade to the 365 hp Cummins. Then there won't be any doubt about handling that heavy snow-load that is sure to get worse in the coming years in the Arctic Carolinas.

And, if you have it handy, you could always keep driving south to help out the Floridians when they have one of these snowfall super-events. Not sure the Larue ribbon spool would be covered for damage by iguanas, though. Best to check your insurance policy. Hate to see you have to abandon the thing down in Key West....

Looks like a heavy frost in Pa.

Like the 'heavy frost' we've had in PA the couple weeks past.  At least 2 6in. dumps.

Got an inch overnight in Clovis NM, but sun is bright and now melting. Usually get 3 or 4 snows a year around 3 or 4 inches each, but this year this is the second and only a dusting at that.
