Title: Birthday Girl...
Post by: wwwarbird on May 04, 2014, 02:20:57 PM
Today, May 4th, is Rachel Sandberg's 7th birthday. Rachel is the daughter of Keith and Sharon Sandberg from Rockford, MN, just west of Minneapolis.

This weekend the Sandberg family and many of our other Piston Popper club members attended the "Spring Kickoff" contest in Polk City, IA. Rachel celebrated her birthday today and helped us all kick off the 2014 flying season with a fair number of flights over the past two days. It was pretty breezy today, 10 gusting to 20-25, with many of the contestants aborting patterns to save their airplanes. No fear with Rachel though, after a celebratory birthday cupcake or two she instructed dad to "get ready", went and dug her plane out of the back of the truck, and headed for the circle. The model she is flying here is dad's (Keith's) original design "Challenger", a great flying .15 size stunt trainer.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACHEL!!!

Is there a better pit man than Keith?

I'm gonna have to start flying again.  Rachel looks as if she's ready to kick my behind.
Happy birthday, young lady!

Great report & photos Wayne, Thanks!  Rachel has a terrific father/pit man in Keith and a very supportive mother.  She'll do well in anything she chooses to tackle.

Would that we could see much more of this in our families.

And a late Happy Birthday from the old DOC Holliday and may she have many more.   I bet Keith is sewing buttons back on after watching his little girl fly and I hope she keeps flying.

This brought memories of my granddaughter Emmy flying at the Polk City contest a few years ago.  In fact it was her second contest.   Wish I could get her flying again even if only for the fun of it.

Great job Rachel!!

Yes it is. Great Pictures and great family. Miss Rachel, You do a wonderful job. Makes me envious.

I have a 7 year-old step granddaughter, my only one that lives in my area of sons, daughter, grand-sons and grand-daughters and great grandsons and daughters.
They all but this one live way far away and I don't get to see them often. My close one's Dad is a nation-wide Horse-Show business
person and my step-daughter ( after years in the Harris County Family Court system) is now a partner in their business. Dad's Dad has bought a horse for G-Grand daughter and she spends a lot of time with that toy. I am trying to get her interest in CL in my ample back-yard, but Mom and
Dad want to keep her when they have weekend time off.  ;D

We have a business deal to work on this Wed. AM. I will show them these pictures, when we are done.

So,  THANK YOU, MISS Rachael, and same to your Mom an Dad, for this great talent you have and just maybe I will get some assistance when they see your great performance. Just wonderful.  H^^
