  Don built a PT-17 stunter powered with an  O.S. Max .40 FP and was a very competitive model. I flew it at the Golden State and had a great time with it---and thank you Don. It easily flew as well as most "regular stunters" that I have flown. The plane really surprised me.

A friend of my father, Bud Field, owned Stearman 001, It was once owned by Dwight Eisenhower and displayed his five stars on the verticle stab.
I had many rides in her and if my memory hasnt failed, I think my son got his first plane ride in her.

Big time fun!!

Thanks for the ride, Don! Wife Joey and I were both in the front cockpit, (right here) and were thrilled.
Sure would like to see some closeup pics of your model Stearman...all I've seen are fleeting images!

This is about the only one I have. There was also an "appearance" article in the Jan/Feb 2012 issue of Stunt News which contained more photos.
