Suliman's Harem by Bill Rutherford
The following from my wife Atina Modesto
Wow Bill! I just finished your book and it was really good. You had me from the first page because I knew something was going to happen to those twins. It was suspenseful, thrilling and totally enjoyable. I got such a laugh when you bought in the model airplane stuff. I told Jose he's talking about fuselages hey I know what that is☺️. Then when the bottom of the model got painted light blue to match the sky I laughed because I knew that's something you guys would not normally do. It all made sense. When I got to the end and I'll just say the pipeline celebration Jose and I were in the car driving just leaving Santo Domingo going to our beach house which takes about an hour. Jose was being his usual self chit chatting about whatever and I was trying to read. To shut him up I started reading aloud. I had his full attention all the way home and finished the book aloud. He was like wow that was good. Thanks so much for giving me a copy. I look forward to the next one. Warmest. Atina Modesto

I also liked the book very much. Particularly since it took place mostly in Jeddah with many specific locations intimately familiar to me while flying Tristars for Saudia. Great job Bill!

Thank you so much Atina. Now if I can just sell a million copies.

So how do we get a copy? ???

I too enjoyed it. Fast moving and entertaining.
Bill is a good writer. It gave me some insight that is now obvious, that perhaps many (most?) authors write what they know.

My wife Kathleen bought the book from him at our Baton rouge contest a couple years ago. A few minutes after she bought the book without me knowing about it Bill came out near the pit area and showed me the book and sold me another copy. He never mentioned that Kathleen already had bought a copy a few minutes earlier. When I found out about the other book I asked him why he sold us twice. He said the book was so good we each needed a copy so we would not fight over sharing it! This of course with a big shi......eat'n grin! Well! What could I say! Been had by the Rutherford! I ain't the first one! Kathleen read the book and really liked it. I've never read my copy-will some day. My wife knows a good story when she sees it, so I'll say Bill is a good writer too, even better book salesman, and a darn good li'l Stinker.

My wife, Saramarie said that the story is very engaging and thought provoking. "What would I do in that situation?" is what she often wondered. I'm still finishing Will Hinton's book, but will get to Bill's next.
Thanks Bill! (and thanks for all the help at the Nats)

Well written. Having "done time" in Saudi Arabia many years ago, I can say that Bill's novel pretty much pegs it. Worth a read.
